Draymond Green Drops Embarrassing Admission on Life After Jordan Poole Incident With Golden State Warriors

Back in 2022, the world was shook when Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole after the two bickered during a practice session. Now, the controversial star opens up on what happened after that fight went down.

During the Warriors’ training camp back in 2022, a video leaked to TMZ revealed an altercation between Green and Poole. The footage showed the veteran approaching the young guard during practice, positioning his body in front of him. In response, Poole pushed Green away, prompting the All-Star forward to lunge and throw a punch, forcefully pinning him against a wall. The incident was swiftly halted by members of the Warriors staff.

Following the incident, Green took a week away from the team, a decision reportedly made mutually with the organization. He later returned for Golden State’s season opener during that season.

During the 2023 Playoffs, the Warriors were eliminated early. This led Green to openly acknowledge that the altercation had a detrimental impact on his leadership role within the team’s locker room. He expressed his belief that the incident hindered his ability to provide guidance and support to Jordan Poole, as their relationship naturally suffered.

Despite the altercation, Poole signed a four-year contract extension worth $140 million with the Warriors. Throughout the season, he showcased improved performance, achieving career-high averages of 20.4 points and 4.5 assists. However, his efficiency rating experienced a decline compared to previous seasons.

Years after that incident, Green is still with the Warriors while Poole is now playing for the Washington Wizards. The controversial forward shares more with big man Kevon Looney in a video shared by Loon Muse on Throughout that season, tensions were still evident between the two and it clearly affected the whole roster. Even though head coach Steve Kerr tried his best to patch things up between them, both Poole and Green were never on the same page after the said incident.

With the incident happening years ago, the two stars can now focus on their upcoming campaigns later this season when the NBA returns. Hopefully by then, they can eventually be alright with each other again.
